Maria Baños Jordan 
Maria Baños Jordan is Executive Director/ Cofounder of Texas Latino Leadership Roundtable (TLLR), a non-partisan, professional community organization established in 2010 by local Latino leaders in response to the unprecendented growth of the Latino community in Montgomery County.  She is a native Houstonian.  She earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Houston.  She has focused her efforts of 17 years on Latino family support, and has extensive professional experience with community development programs, and outreach efforts in urban, rural, and transitional communities.  Maria has developed several outreach efforts in Montgomery County since 2008.  These include the creation of the Hispanic Outreach Professional Enrichment (HOPE) program for Montgomery County United Way,  The Historias Project for MCUW and book archived in the MC Library System in 2011, The Deerwood Familia Project in 2009,  and the Advisory Council for the Deerwood Familia Project, where she serves as Vice Chair with TLLR Board Member and Council Chair, Mario Rosales.  Maria is also a member of the Pan American Roundtable of Conroe, the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Board of Directors, and is active in various community based efforts around the county.  She has been married for twenty years, and is the proud mother of two beautiful children.

Pete Garcia
In 2011, Pete Garcia was selected as the Executive Director of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce The Woodlands-Gulf Coast Chapter. Ronda Butler Harkey was named President, and Julie Charros-Betancor was named Vice President-Membership. The advisory board was selected and plans quickly were underway for a chapter launch for Fall 2011.

Caroline Crimm, PhDCaroline Castillo Crimm is an associate professor of history and chair of the Encuentro Hispanic Outreach Program at Sam Houston State University. She is the author of several books and numerous articles on Petra Vela Kenedy, the De León family, and other aspects of Tejano history. She is a Fellow of the Texas State Historical Association, a former Piper Professor, and a recipient of the Community Amigo Award in Education from the League of United Latin American Citizens.


Jose Antonio Lopez, author of The Last Knight: Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara Uribe, A Texas Hero
Mr. Jose Antonio (Joe) Lopez is a Federal service retiree and writer. Born and raised in Laredo, Texas he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1962.  He has a Master of education degree from Southwest Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. Lopez is the author of the short story, The Last Knight, Don Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara Uribe, A Texas Hero.

Shepherd is a member of the Montgomery Historical Society and is a past Volunteer of the Year, named so because of his outstanding contributions to the Montgomery community.

Pat Spackey, Julia Stewart 
Pat is a direct descendent of Charles Stewart and is a member and officer in numerous historical and genealogical societies.

Robin Montgomery
Robin Montgomery holds a PhD from the University of Oklahoma and has been a professor at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Troy State Graduate Program in Europe and Oxford Graduate School. He is a member of the Oxford Society of scholars and has published extensively in international relations and in Texas History. His books on Texas History include, The History of Montgomery County(1974,86), Cut’n Shoot, TX: The Roy Harris Story(1984), Tortured Destiny: Lament of a Shaman Princess(novel-2001), Historic Montgomery County(2003), Indians & Pioneers of Original Montgomery County(2006 & 2010), March to Destiny: Cultural Legacy of Stephen F. Austin’s Original Colony(2009), co-authored with Joy Montgomery Images of America: Navasota (2012), and in publication: Roy Harris, Cut and Shoot, TX
